I support this proposal. I own waterfront property on the north shore of Lake Huron and see everyday the damage these birds are doing. Hunters must be responsible for disposal of the carcasses as this could create a whole new problem

I do not support the proposal -- hunting is an activity that has some minor side benefits of controlling large numbers of wildlife -- hunting itself should not be used as a method of controlling species that have no benefit to the hunter -- cormorants fall into that category. Lire davantage

This is long overdue. A controlled hunt for this “invasive” species is welcomed by any angler who has watched these birds devour countless pounds of fish within a short time frame. These birds are decimating fish stocks, and destroying large areas of habitat which is in close proximity to water. Lire davantage

These birds have been on the raise in our area (Quinte Area). They are destroying the islands and depleting the fishery on the Bay of Quinte. Our area thrives on our year round fishery. These birds are slowly destroying it and I believe this is a step in the right direction. Thank you

I believe that if opening a hunting season is an effective way for controlling the population of double-crested cormorants, then it should be in the best interest of the government to do so.

I believe ther should most definitely be a season for these birds. They are very hard on local fish populations in small ponds and lakes, they make a very wide spread stinky mess where they live and there is no reason for there to be so many of them.

I have seen the damage done by cormorants in the great lakes, total denuding of vegetation in their nesting areas. I support an extensive hunting season to reduce their numbers.
