Reject the open-for-business planning tool! It will undermine efforts to make Ontario communities more livable, sustainable and resilient. Open-for-business by-laws will override PPS policies supporting active transportation, affordable housing, green infrastructure and climate resiliency. Lire davantage

Bill 66 is a step towards the destruction of wetlands, woodlands, habitats and species all across Ontario. It is a step toward the destruction of local drinking water management and in turn our public health. It is a step towards the destruction of farm lands and the continuation of urban sprawl. I do not believe Bill 66, gives the municipalities too much decision making power over environmentally sensitive land. And does not allow for public comment - democracy!

This proposal takes away legislation that protects our natural and cultural environments. It does not take into account the impact on the planning profession who carry out studies in support of the legislation. Further, it does not acknowledge Indigenous community rights.

I oppose the legislation allowing for municipal "open for business" bylaws. All municipalities should throw this "tool" into the deep end of a lake, before all the lakes are polluted and ruined. Lire davantage

I am all for reducing red tape as long as standards are maintained. Allowing the Green belt to be developed, even in the name of jobs, is so short sighted. We need to maintain our environement since as humans we all depend on clean water and clean air. Lire davantage

Restoring 'old practices' is ignorant. Businesses being 'open' and having fewer regulations and standards, public approval, etc will cause damage to our infrastructure, our environment and our population. Lire davantage

Streamlining the planning process is a good idea however I do not agree it should allow development within areas that have been protected from development particularly Ontario’s Greenbelt

I am very much in favour of this proposed open for business tool. It will attract new business and economic development to areas that have been mired in red tape for years and years. Lire davantage

I want to register my strong opposition to Bill 66 Restoring Ontario’s Competitiveness Act, 2018. The Bill undermines or destroys many years of improving regulations that protect our health and the environment on which the rest of our society and economy depends. Lire davantage

I do not support Bill 66. Our Greenbelt, access to safe drinking water, our environment, our health, our communities as sustainable and vibrant spaces are far too important to be demolished by Bill 66. Lire davantage
