I don't want Bill66 to remove the protection of the Planning Act and Provincial Policy Statements for significant built heritage resources and significant cultural landscape anywhere in the province.

I disagree with Bill 66, specifically Schedule 5 and Schedule 10. It is undemocratic to repeal and eliminate safeguards found in various acts, calling them "red tape". Lire davantage

I do not support Bill 66. I do not support Schedule 5 and Schedule 10 under this Bill. It is undemocratic and lacks transparency. It would leave citizens without recourse. Community members would not be able to appeal open-for-business by-laws to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal. Lire davantage

I am not sure I can fully express my outrage and opposition to the whole idea of an "open-for-business" bylaw. Words fail me! Lire davantage

Reject the open-for-business planning tool! It will undermine efforts to make Ontario communities more livable, sustainable and resilient. Open-for-business by-laws will override PPS policies supporting active transportation, affordable housing, green infrastructure and climate resiliency. Lire davantage

Bill 66 is a step towards the destruction of wetlands, woodlands, habitats and species all across Ontario. It is a step toward the destruction of local drinking water management and in turn our public health. It is a step towards the destruction of farm lands and the continuation of urban sprawl. While I support government initiatives that aims to assist and build on healthy commerce, there are far more innovative ways to do this. It is disappointing that the governments problem solving solutions only create other problems and only puts this government in a bad light. Lire davantage

I am completely opposed to Schedule 10. It over-rides the publicly established planning provisions of a municipality and it strips away environmental protections that communities have in place. Lire davantage

I am very concerned that the proposed legislation will allow development companies to destroy sensitive heritage important to the cultural weave of Ontario. Lire davantage

I oppose the legislation allowing for municipal "open for business" bylaws. All municipalities should throw this "tool" into the deep end of a lake, before all the lakes are polluted and ruined. Lire davantage

While I appreciate the need for development to be moved with expedition through the planning stage, I am alarmed that the new regulations will apparently allow new projects to bypass the protections that have been carefully put in place to ensure that they will improve and not destroy the Ontario en Lire davantage
