The Ontario Heritage Act should be left as it was intended; we have lost too much of our architectural heritage already. Attention should be directed toward preserving what we have rather than leaving decisions to those interested. only in making a profit.
I am writing in the hopes the government will pull back on Bill 108 that includes changes to the Ontario Heritage Act and to ensure city Councillors, planners and the people have a say in protecting and preserving our communities.
I believe that the Government of Ontario's proposed changes to the Ontario Heritage Act contained in Schedule 11 of Bill 108 were developed without adequate participation of Ontario's cultural heritage sector and are badly flawed.
