With over 6000 aggregate mines/quarries I. Ontario alone, making it easier to open new ones makes no sense at all! Our environment and natural resources need to be protected and making things easier for big business to destroy our province is not what I voted Conservative for!! Stop this act!

We have rules in place to protect our environment, removing these rules will have serious repercussions! I grew up on the escarpment in Stoney Creek where quarries we’re able to dig as deep as they wanted. The outcome, we lost our water supply even though we were almost 9 km away from the quarry! My husband and I understand that aggregates are necessary. However, we believe that environment, agricultural lands, water resources, residential areas, parklands and tourism all need to be protected to the fullest extent. Lire davantage
