Under no circumstances ought we adopt this “strategy” which lacks even a basic understanding of ecology, ignores decades of forestry science and SES research, undermines commercial values in NTFP, and pays no attention to climate breakdown and the impact on reforestation efforts. Lire davantage

Forest are for the people of Ontario not for the profits of the forestry industry. Hey, I remember hearing that "for the people" slogan somewhere before. If only I could remember where???

Ignoring species at risk in order to liquidate our remaining forests is short-sighted. The average log diameter harvested now is laughably small due to prior over harvesting. Please rethink this strategy.

Streamlining and minimizing administration for forest industry will assist government in achieving some of the objectives of the Forest Sector Strategy. A permanent solution to the duplication between the Crown Forest Sustainability Act and the Endangered Species Act needs to be found. Lire davantage

There is no justification for using public money to “reduce costs for the forest sector.”(1) Lowering taxes, building access roads, reducing electricity rates, providing technical analysis with LiDAR(2), are subsidies to an industry that should stand on its own, rather than rely upon tax dollars fro Lire davantage

There need to be limits on habitat loss to protect and recover species at risk. Ontarians care about having ample forest and biodiversity for hundreds of years to come, so any forest strategy needs limits to industrial and commercial activity.

I whole heartedly disagree in eliminating stringent structures and strategies that make it easier for industry to remove natural resources/habitats and biodiversity in our communities. Climate change is a reality that has hit the world in plain view as was noticed in Australia most recently. Lire davantage

At the core of any such strategy must be a commitment to protect biodiversity. Unfortunately, the proposed Ontario Forest Sector Strategy does not implement limits on habitat loss to protect and recover species at risk. Lire davantage

I object to increased logging in Ontario. We must save at risk species. It is absolutely necessary to protect biodiversity and leave sufficient amounts of forest undisturbed. Consider the future of our children and the world we leave them. Stop this change.
