It is absolutely imperative that NOBODY owns our water, here in Ontario or across Canada, except the people of Canada. No companies, foreign or otherwise should have any control or say in how we manage our natural resources. That power belongs only to the people of Canada.

Hello: I live near Elora Ontario. PLEASE take great care in deciding on priorities for water taking. Our population is set to double in the next 25 years. We will run out of water if we're not careful.

This proposal takes stewardship of water in the province in the right direction. Water needs vary widely from township to township, county to county, region to region. Municipalities must have a say when determining their water needs.

Water taking permits for bottled water should be phased out over the next few years and there should be a permanent moratorium on all bottled water taking permits, and no new permits or expansion of existing permits should be allowed.

This is a critical issue for the Township of Puslinch. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Our council and staff have put extensive time and effort into preparing these comment on the proposal.

Dear Ministry Of Environment,
It is good to see democracy at work with the chance to comment on the proposed changes to water taking in Ontario. After years of advocacy, I am pleased to see that this government is taking the issue of water governance seriously.

I am happy to hear that municipalities will have a say when a water bottler comes to town to start pumping water for profit or when an already existing water bottler wants to increase the amount they pump. This is an important piece of the democratic process.

No one should invest in a company who has no ownership of the type of waste it is producing or have any program in place to properly recycling or repurposing its packaging.
Refusal of acknowledging that climate change is real and water will increasingly become less accessible, we will fall.
