Discuss updating permits to reflect actual water needs- • who determines the needs of a particular industry? • if they base it on past taking they do not reflect needs for current production, only what was required at that time. Lire davantage

Hello Firstly, I am glad to see the the consultation with First Nations is now back to the Ministry rather than the applicant, the Federal adoption of UNDRIP would have made this an issue. Lire davantage

In light of water trading on the NYSE and climate change, we need to protect our water more than ever. The priorities must have teeth and enforcement and oversight. Who will be watching and monitoring regularly? Lire davantage

While the ministry should be applauded for attempting to ensure Ontario’s water resources are both protected and maintained, there still is some confusion as to how this goal will be achieved. Lire davantage

I don’t believe support is required for water bottling companies as bottled water should be reduced to prevent plastic waste. Water needs to remain in natural territory to benefit land and communities.

I am in support of the recognition that a local government has the final say on water taking of any kind. Also that water needs in a community that is slated to grow by 60% in 20 years be taken into account. Thank you

Water is NOT a commodity. To treat water as a commodity treats persons and creation as mere dollar values. Creation is made of living souls; all interconnected and interdependent. To treat water as a commodity violates this cycle of life. Lire davantage

One of the biggest concerns, other than the Middlebrook well of course, is the number of chicken barns being permitted. They use a very large amount of water. There are 3 being built on Second line, with, I believe, and option for a total of 7. Lire davantage

No secret aquifers are lowering world wide . Here included. Your focus is on water bottling companies is admirable. Your missing some of the heavy duty users though. These properties have multiple wells and multiple permits for ground and surface water takings of very high volumes. Lire davantage

I do not support these recommendations to permit water bottling companies to resume business. Nowhere does the proposed new approach address the horrendous environmental disaster that plastic bottles are creating all over the earth. Lire davantage

1. We support priorities of water use, by which a water taking permit will not be issued if it will cause unacceptable impacts to drinking water needs or to the environment. However, we are concerned that impacts to ecosystem needs will not be adequately measured. Lire davantage

Under the Area-Based Guidance it is possible that permit holders may be required to implement management and monitoring measures. Considering the cost associated with such measures, we have concerns for permit holders that may fall under Area-Based Guidance. Lire davantage
