I submit a comment here as a person directly involved in the Cultural Resource Management (CRM) Industry as it pertains to archaeological resources. According to current proposed changes, the MAH can choose to ignore protections on the environment or on archaeological resources. Lire davantage

There is a reason why unlimited MZOs were specifically made illegal by previous governments - because they should be illegal. This government's high-handed slashing of environmental protections is not going unnoticed. Lire davantage

It is clear that the environment in Ontario is currently at risk from encroachments by development. While economic viability is important in this province, destroying any vulnerable areas in the interest of acquiring industry and jobs is not justifiable. Lire davantage

Natural spaces must be legally protected for the well-being of all living things. Human and non-human. If you like potable water nature needs protecting. If you like clean air, nature needs protecting. If flooding and erosion are to be mitigated it needs protecting. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose proposed changes to the Planning Act that would allow Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZOs) to override protections for Ontario’s farmland and significant natural areas. Lire davantage

Enough is enough! Where is your commitment to Climate Change. It is not only the responsibility of individual taxpayers in Ontario but Government legislators (like you) have the responsibility to "lead" us in this direction. Lire davantage

This is an abuse of power. Our lands, the species that call them home and environmental benefits from them are gone once it's dug up and paved over. It is unacceptable that it is happening and that the people in power are changing the law so that the lands cannot be held accountable.

PLEASE do not remove MZOs from responsibility to the law, saving agricultural land, and protection of natural preserves from development. Think about the FUTURE and the kind of world you wish to bequeath to your children.

I strongly oppose these changes. Planning processes and the provincial policy statement reflect respect for scientific and democratic planning processes. MZOs should continue to conform to the PPS.

I am appalled by the proposed legislation. In 2021 we should recognize that development at any cost in the end costs all of us. We cannot have a healthy economy without a healthy environment and healthy people. Ministerial Zoning Orders should be used with great discretion. Lire davantage

Premier Ford, you are changing the law so that you can approve projects that do not take into account environmental considerations and destroy Ontario´s significant natural areas and so that you cannot be held accountable to us voters. Please stop this. Lire davantage
