We must stop expanding the wood pellet industry as it is dirtier than coal at the smokestack and is using precious whole trees rather than waste. Biomass is not the solution to replace fossil fuels if trees are going to be cut down to provide the wood. Only dead trees should be used. The biomass industry should not be increased. There are other solutions- hydroelectricity from Quebec, solar and wind.

Burning wood pellets is worse for the planet than burning coal. This is not a solution for climate change. Carbon needs to stay in the ground and our forests need to be protected. Creating new jobs with the move to solar, wind, geothermal energy is what is needed.
