Hello, In my opinion the new proposal has no merit other than to accommodate bear hunters that are too lazy to walk a few meters from their ATV's to set up their slop buckets. This is just shooting not hunting. It also creates a serious safety issue for all forest recreational users.

I object, the wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous, hiking, and recreating near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. Ontario better not allow this change to take place.

As a resident of Ontario, I strongly object to the concept and practice of baiting bears -to make it easier to kill them- of any kind. It is weak, lazy, cowardice, shows no knowledge, no skills or need to actually hunt bears. Read more

I object to this proposal. These bears are not dangerous. Extending the hunt period means the chance for more orphan cubs, who either die or grow up without the learning the mother provide. Putting the bait distance closer is not hunting; just a shooting scenario. Read more

This is a terrible idea. By allowing hunting of bears closer to trails you put innocent people's lives at risk. This proposal puts hunter's rights before anyone else's. This would mean it is unsafe for most people to hike and enjoy nature. Read more
