I object, the wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous, hiking, and recreating near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. Ontario better not allow this change to take place.

I object to this proposed changes of baiting 200m of rightaways to 30m. This will only make the general public unnessisarily more afraid of bear as it will bring them closer to cities and homes. You are making bear hunting like shooting fish in a barrel. Where is the sport in that. Read more

It’s becoming more obvious that “hunting” is simply a cowardly act that wealthy men and women do at the ridiculously unfair disadvantage of these innocent animals...

I strongly object to this proposal. This is incredibly unsafe and makes me seriously question the motives of these decision makers. The fact that bear baiting itself is still considered ethical hinting is shameful. Read more

I disagree with making the bait distance less than what it is now. It should be even further away or not at all. What kind of "sport" is this? Bringing it closer to people in any way endangers those people because of the guns being used. Read more

Bait traps are not even hunting. This is just a means for those who get a thrill from killing to sit back and do so. It also endangers everyone else who may be passing by. Read more

Bear baiting regulations were too restricted. 30 meters is more realistic. 200 meters is much too far for people with disabilities. some of the best places to bait are close to the road or trail. responsible hunters do not shoot toward the road or trail. Read more
