This proposal is a great plan and way to protect our water. I fully support it. No new permits should be permitted and the fact that some businesses are taking more than their permit allows is an abuse of the system that is in place.

I completely support the proposal to extend the water permit moratorium. Water is key to our survival. Please protect our water for our citizens before you think about selling such a precious resource to large companies for profit.

Please extend the current moratorium on water bottling permits. It is a first step in the right direction. Companies should no longer be allowed to participate in water taking practices for the purpose of selling bottled water. Read more

It’s great that the moratorium is being extended. However, as a resident of Centre Wellington there is no need for further work on your part. Our communities are at risk as far as provincially mandated growth vis-a-vis ground water supply. Read more

I support the proposal to extend the moratorium but would like to add that it should be for four years instead of nine months. Also why is the water taking permit $500 per million litres of water under Ontario Regulation 176/17. Read more

This proposal on the moratorium is a start in the right direction, however, Nestle's proposed operations at Middlebrook are a major concern for residents of our township. We need a more responsible water policy for the sake of protecting groundwater for future generations. Read more

Our Ontario water is precious and we should not take it for granted. Nestle extracts unreasonably large amounts of water and there is no way to know exactly how this might disturb the delicate balance of our underground ecosystems. Read more
