Please extend the moratorium on Nestlé's water bottling permits in Ontario. Corporations should have no right to exploit our water resources, potentially causing great environmental harm along the way. Thank you for consulting with the public on this important issue.

I think this is a great idea to extend the moratorium at a time when single use plastics are a very real concern. Since only a small portion of this plastic is recycled, it makes sense to refill our own bottles from home or water fill stations.

I am very encouraged by the Government's decision to maintain the water taking moratorium until next Fall to allow for studies to be completed and public consultation to occur, especially in the affected areas like Aberfoyle. Read more

Please stop giving Nestle ANY more extensions or permission to take water from the communities who need it most. They do not need the water. Plastic bottles are contributing to the destruction of our environment and Canada is one of the worst culprits. Read more

Ontario needs to extend this moratorium, and prioritize the environment, health and access to clean water for all Canadians, especially those on reservations. Private corporations should not be able to profit nor have any control of our nation's water supply, no compromises.

A change/ delay in allowing Nestles from bottling our water will hopefully give our government time to access this whole situation of “bottled water “ ! We really need to deter/ cut back on this plastic”garbage “ epidemic!

Water is a human right, as much as air and should not be a commodity - bottling aquifer water for profit or non emergency situations needs to be eliminated. Water is vital to life, it is not a 'beverage' - ban bottled water, make tap water drinkable in every town.

I think that we need to stop and think about what Nestle drawing water at this rate is doing to our environment. They are polluting the earth with millions of plastic water bottles and damaging our access to fresh water here at home. Stop letting them dominate this water source. Read more

We must stop selling and giving away our natural resources. These resources belong to Canadian taxpayers, not to outside interests. Any politicians that support giving away or selling the natural resources owned by Canadians are not representing the taxpayers interests. Read more

I commend the government for extending the moratorium on water taking. I hope this a first step to a complete end to any new permits in the province and a move to new policies and regulations to govern existing operations. Read more

Great to hear the Ontario Government is listening to the public. Time to now consider whether plastic water bottles should be banned outright and the existing permits to companies to mine our precious water be cancelled. Do the right thing for the environment.
