The Ontario provincial government want to exempt the logging industry from Ontario’s Endangered Species at Risk Act until at least 2020. If these exemptions are approved, the already threatened caribou is at risk of losing the vast expanses of forest they need to survive.

I support the extension of the Section 55 regulation. I recommend that the extension be for five years to provide adequate time for an expert stakeholder panel to resolve this complex issue.
