I am a professional biologist with knowledge of and experience with Massasauga Rattlesnakes. I support the Government Response Statement for the Massasauga Rattlesnake, especially that habitat protection and population management are required for the Carolinian population.

Research on the massasauga rattlesnake can provide valuable insight into conservation efforts that can be applied to many other snake species. In my opinion, the Ojibway (Windsor/LaSalle) subpopulation should be translocated, if feasible, to the Wainfleet subpopulation. Read more

I believe that the Massasauga is an important part of Ontario's biodiversity and should be protected in any way possible. With increasing urban sprawl, changes to our climate and overall increase in anthropogenic harm to our ecosystem the need to protect wildlife is extremely important. Read more
