Government should be obligated to subscribe to United Nations Panel on Climate Change (UNPCC) annual report to inform its environmental policies. Reducing greenhouse gases is an imperative for future generations.
I am very disappointed with the decision to repeal the Green Energy Act, in particular the cancellation of Ontario's cap and trade program. This program was funding many important initiatives such as the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling program.

It would certainly be disappointing, and counter-productive if the energy conservation programs currently offered by the IESO through the LDCs are reduced or eliminated as a result of the changes planned to the Green Energy Act.

I am in my late 30's and have been aware of global warming since I was a very young person. The Green Energy Act is a series of regulations and programs that made me VERY proud to live in Ontario and was leading us down the path to meeting our greenhouse gas reduction targets.

I believe that we need to spend money on programs to combat climate change. I also believe we need to have a tax on pollution in order to combat this problem.
Repealing the Green Energy Act is short-sighted and driven by short-term political goals, not the long-term health of the biosphere and its human and non-human residents.
With the most dire warnings ever just issued by the scientific community, it is unconscionable to repeal the Green Energy Act. it worked and worked well. There are no perfect programs, but there isn't time anymore to re-invent the wheel on legislation that works.
