I am writing to add my voice IN OPPOSITION to the government's planned dismantling big the white pines wind development here in Prince Edward County. I live in the village of Milford, and my home sits very close to three of these wind turbines.

It is most unfortunate that Doug Ford took unilateral action to cancel green energy projects rather than address concerns with existing fee structure and location or scale challenges. The cost to Ontario will be extensive including loss of goodwill with business investors.

I live in Prince Edward County and I worked on the White Pines Wind farm project. I support this renewable energy project and others. Decommisioning this project is the wrong thing to do for these reasons:

I feel it is irresponsible for this government to cancel this project without debate and without knowing what all the constituents want. Careful consideration should have been given to the value of this project. As a taxpayer, I find it hard to believe that this makes any economic sense.

This government's cancellation of the White Pines wind farm project is a clear indicator that they are not equipped to lead Ontarians into the future. The various arguments used to justify this cancellation don't make common sense.

Todd Smith insists that this cancellation has nothing to do with the environment or with politics. He insists that there will be savings to taxpayers even after the costs of decommissioning and compensating wpd Canada are taken into account.

As a resident of Prince Edward County, I have seen how a small group of very vocal and newly arrived retirees have divided this community and led Mr Smith and municipal council to believe that there is no support for the White PInes project.

As a taxpayer, it is absolutely unfathomable to believe that cancelling the White PInes project makes any sense at all from an environmental, political or economic perspective.
