As a light duty drive clean inspector and repair technician I am not opposed to change but having a good look at the ins and outs of the program and how well it is working just seems a shame to shut it down. The 16% to 5-6% failure rate should just be a testimate to how well it is doing. Read more

Hello. I think this drive clean program is doing a super job. I been working on drive clean inspector over last 5 years in auto repair service. I seen how people don't care about their car condition. lot of people out there are not taking care of their car till they need to renew their sticker. Read more

The Drive Clean program was effective. Vehicle owners covered (or partially covered) costs through fees. People who didn’t own vehicles had no charges to cover. It is fair that the polluters should pay for pollution reduction. Read more

The program is still credited with taking 335 tonnes of pollutants out of the air every year. That might be a worthwhile trade if the government had something to replace Drive Clean. But in typical Ford style, the program is being axed with no suitable replacement. Read more

The concept is a good one. There is little need for all car owners to subsidize poor maintenance of a few car owners. The concept that cars are better made and provide an opportunity to reduce costs for Ontario car owners is justified. Read more

We are a mobile HDV DCF in North Western Ontario 1. Is the testing on LDV diesel trucks under 4500 going to be exempt. Service Ontario requires that they need a test when they increase their weight over 4500 kg. Read more
