There is a bit of irony that it is later referred to as "a tool" as to downplay and minimize that this is a MAJOR change to legislation and it is a Law change -a ZONING BYLAW CHANGE that is detrimental to the Greenbelt that voters have shown they want protected! Read more

My family is against this new regulation as Lake Simcoe and area need protection from over development by money hungry business people. So much if the new infrastructure comes from bigger city people. We need to preserve the nature of the area.

As a mother of 3, an educator and a citizen of Ontario I wholeheartedly disapprove of any changes proposed that would open up the Greenbelt for development. If this was an issue I could vote on I would vote NO. Please look at more ways we can preserve our land, water resources and air quality.

Extremely angry! This area is set aside for a reason. Now this government wants to appease developers to the detriment of our children and grandchildren. The Niagra escarpment has kept conservation priority. The Greenbelt is there to protect water. Read more

You promised that you would not do this. During the election when it was suggested that this was on the table your supporters stepped up and said “no way”. And realizing that the will of the people was not with you, you promised that the Greenbelt legislation would not be changed. Read more

I'm opposed to Bill 66 . It is far too pro developer. It will allow paving over og our farms, our greenbelt ; will reduce oversight of our water. ( do we want another Walkerton?). And to remove public consultation is blatantly taking away our democratic right to voice concerns of any project.

I do not support the idea of opening the green belt and oakridges moraine under this proposal. As an environmental planning student we are taught about their importance to the environment and natural heritage. Read more

I do not support the proposed changes to the planning act. Ontario cannot afford to lose anymore prime farm land to development, especially in the green belt region. Doing Ford promised to leave the green belt as is and I expect him to keep that promise

I absolutely and completely oppose this bill in its entirety. Putting our water, our communities, our workers, our food source, our ENVIRONMENT at risk like this for the sake of a handful of McJobs is unacceptable. Australia tried it and it doesn't work. Read more

This change to the Planning Act will irresponsibly grant a free pass to industry to strip Ontario of its best resources and our best defenses against increased natural hazards: the most fertile agricultural land in all of Canada, clean water, natural ecosystems, and the possibilities for jobs from Read more

How does this plan protect environmentally sensitive lands - I feel that this focuses on development but does not address sustainable development. We should not allow development to occur at the cost of our greenspaces and environmentally sensitive areas. Read more

This proposal is worrisome, and it's not clear to me that circumventing a variety of provincial legislation for the protection of groundwater, agricultural resources, and natural heritage is commensurate with the need to locate jobs in areas rich in these features. Read more
