I am not in support of any legislation that allows key environmental legislation to be bypassed in favour of development. It is short sighted and potentially places at risk our drinking water and natural public spaces. Read more

Bill 66 proposes to take away the democratic right of citizens to know what is happening in their own backyard, provide input and, if necessary, oppose poor planning. Transparency is a key and fundamental issue, and it's missing from Bill 66. Read more

Regarding, ERO-013-4293 Bill 66, Restoring Ontario's Competitiveness Act 2018 We need to stop or at least amend Bill 66 in its current form. Transparency is a fundamental right of democracy and this Bill, if passed would remove that. Read more

We feel it is absolutely essential that Bill 66 be revised. The proposed amendment to the Planning Act takes away the democratic right of citizens to know what is happening in their own backyard, provide input and if needed oppose the development. Read more

I am very disturbed by Bill 66 as currently proposed. During the election the stated Conservative platform was to "protect the Greenbelt in its entirety". There is no room for this legislation in that statement. Read more

I am strongly opposed to the idea of permitting Municipalities to fast track development of businesses and avoid process that involve public consultation and assessments such as Environmental assessments. Good decision making and consultation takes time. Read more

As a Waterloo Region resident, I agree with Sam Nabi, Director of HOLD THE LINE that bill "66 is a serious threat to Waterloo Region’s water quality and supply, agricultural and rural communities, natural ecosystems, and the continued smart growth of its urban cores. Read more

I am NOT in favour of some aspects of Bill 66. The Green Belt is an area that has to be protected at all costs. NO development should take place on the Green Belt, and it should even be expanded. As well, any changes to our water protection should be to enhance , not to detract. Read more

I think that the Bill 66 Open-for-Business regulation is the wrong approach to attracting business in Ontario. You should not be removing environmental protections to attract business. The fact that this regulation will override many of our environmental acts is very disappointing. Read more
