Very concerned to see you have swapped out Table 1 Soil Standards and used Table 2 Soil Standards as the standard for clean sites. Table 2 allows elevated levels of salts, petroleum hydrocarbons, and other contaminants that we should not be putting on farm land or on residential sites. Read more

Please ensure that all excess soil being moved from sites is tested and shown to be appropriate for site where it will be placed. This should be required for all excess soil, regardless of the volume or any other mitigating factor.

As a Building Official working in Northern Ontario I am very pleased with these proposed changes. We have had countless projects stopped or delayed due to unreasonable restrictions in the Brownfields Act. I applaud the provincial government for their initiatives and commitment to cutting red tape. Read more

There is a serious flaw in the proposed Regulations which must be addressed. The Q.P. is required to collect "representative samples" for analysis because the accuracy of the lab analyses is fundamental to the conclusions and recommendation made in the phase 2 report. Read more

To Whom This May Concern, Finding a home for excavated fill is always going to be problematic, so we need to do the best job that can be done and seek higher standards.
