I would like the wording of the section 21.1 to be more specific. What is considered "mandatory", for example? And, what will be the role of our regional conservation authorities? Their roles and powers should not be diminished, but they should be strengthened.

I understand that legislation needs to be revised but careful wording is required, in the case of modernizing the conservation act leaving out the conservation of natural resources as a mandatory function will effectively neuter the conservation authority from protecting the limited natural environm

I believe that the word “Conservation” should be included in the Ministry responsible for the Conservation Authorities. The work done by CA’s would be poorly reflected upon if lost in the name of the Ministry.

The province of Ontario must formulate regulations to allow Conservation Authorities to operate effectively to protect our environment, forestry, waterways and the people that live in and around the various areas in their jurisdictions.

The natural environment contributes clean air, clean water and a multitude of
benefits important to the health and well-being of the people of Ontario.
The authority for the CA's is far too broad and encompassing. Let them focus on their core mandate which originally was to control flooding. Make them solely responsible for water flow management at all dams and lakes and rivers.

"More Homes, More Choice" should be relative to non-Conservation and/or Park lands, i.e. new laws /amendments / changes should not enable further encroachment on public and private lands set aside as preserves and environmentally important areas.
