One of the biggest issues with municipal building departments is that when the OBC is updated, the building departments (CBO and inspectors) do not get sufficient advance notice to incorporate the changes into their code books (and into their jobs). Read more

The building permit application needs to include a sign-off by the property owner agreeing to the work being done. The current system allows a tenant to obtain a BP without the knowledge or approval of the property owner.
