With over 6000 aggregate mines/quarries I. Ontario alone, making it easier to open new ones makes no sense at all! Our environment and natural resources need to be protected and making things easier for big business to destroy our province is not what I voted Conservative for!! Stop this act!

The credit river is a key river in Ontario. This beautiful river has had much conservation efforts to make sure the fish come back and are healthy. The proposal would seriously Damage the river and could put the health of the waterway in jeopardy. We must protect our river ecosystems. Read more

As a consultant providing professional engineering services to Applicants under the ARA it has become a very frustrating, time consuming and expensive process for my clients. A cost of $500k and 5 years of process is not uncommon-and no guarantee a permit or licence will ever be granted. Read more

As CAO for Thames Centre I hear many complaints from landowners around pits regarding lack of enforcement related to haul routes, dust, noise and general lack of care of berms. Many pits become unsightly and this leads to conflicts with neighbours. Read more

We have rules in place to protect our environment, removing these rules will have serious repercussions! I grew up on the escarpment in Stoney Creek where quarries we’re able to dig as deep as they wanted. The outcome, we lost our water supply even though we were almost 9 km away from the quarry! 1. I substantially agree with in fact increasing the studies for the application process for existing operators and new applications to ensure that water tables and or flow-through waters and streams and surface waters in adjacent lands are not impacted in any way whatsoever. Read more
