It is most important to protect the drinking water of municipalities and residents who may be negatively affected by aggregate pit extractions that compromise their ground water and below ground water sources. This should be the primary focus of any amendments to legislation.

I guess that means I can apply for a permit to build a shed but build a mansion and that’s ok?
We have more than enough quarries in Muskoka. They should be allowed to continue but until there is a true need for more aggregate let’s leave our environment alone.
My family has owned a 100 acre farm property in Puslinch Township since 1965. During that time we have seen extensive aggregate extraction and what these same companies leave behind on these once beautiful rural properties is disturbing.
