After many years of unattended public meetings, I am very pleased with the step to eliminate them and the expense of related promotion and advertising. Other posting and record keeping requirements make sense, but continued meetings in rooms
of empty chairs do not.

I agree with the amendment to eliminate the requirement for golf courses to advertise and hold public meetings annually. Since the inception of the IPM program for golf courses, we have had 1 phone call regarding the public meeting and another year we had 1 person show up.

I just wanted to comment on not having the Public Hearing. My Clubs spends its money on mail outs for the hearing and no one shows up. My Club hires a spokesman that would have all the right answers if someone showed up. My Club isn't able to rent out our dining room that night relating to a loss.

In the proposed regulations, the existing class 5 and 6 products will be grouped as Class D. Under the proposed licensing changes, the consultation document suggests "As a result of reclassification, Class D and would include both Class 5 and 6 pesticides.

over the past 10 years of annual meetings i have had a total of 2 people show up , 1 wanted a summer job, the other wondered if he could buy killex for his dandelions, total waste of time and money
I support the elimination of the requirement for golf courses to hold annual public meetings. In my experience these meetings are not or very poorly attended. All information that is presented at the meetings is available online to interested parties.

It is extremely important for the industry and the consumer that no change occur to disrupt the market, specifically in the existing Class 5 and Class 6 products being grouped as Class D. Presently, Class 5 pesticides must be sold by licensed vendors but not Class 6 pesticides which are exempt.

As a golf course operator, it has been clear that the IPM program has many benefits including the reduction of the use of pesticides at both of our facilities. The maintenance of documentation for these programs is understandable and useful to both the operator and the superintendent.

The planet is in crisis. Stop all roadside spraying. We need NO poisons in the environment. Roadsides can be mowed if necessary but continual spraying is killing turtles, insects and many other creatures including children. Stop all spraying of poisons everywhere.

Ontario needs to keep all the present restrictions on the use of neoniconitoids.
The proposed changes leave too many loopholes that may allow them into the food chain of many insects particularly pollinating insects such as bees.

The act is good as it is and the government should not be more 'open for business' if it adversely affects the environment or the health of the people. We know these things were restricted because they are poisonous to the environment, people and animals.

Regarding the elimination of the Public Meeting requirement for regulation 63/09; As a Licensed Exterminator, a Certified IPM Agent and an active Class A Golf Course Superintendent, I agree with the revision to eliminate the need for Public Meetings.

I am concerned that this amendment to the Pesticides Act sends the wrong message about neonics and pesticides and is taking a step backward. We are not doing enough provincially or federally to protect biodiversity and the health of the environment. We must act strongly and we must act urgently.
