I fully support the reinstatement of the spring bear hunt. I support it with continued protection of sows and cubs during the spring season. There was more bears indiscriminately killed as nuisance animals after that legislation was put in place. Shoot Shovel and Shutup was the motto of many. Read more

As a Bear hunter and trapper I believe this proposal should go through to help support the many businesses that provide services such as hunting/trapping supplies and such. As well as helping to keep populations in check for the public safety factor. Read more

I am very much opposed to the hunting of bears or any animal. We are in a climate crisis and any management of animals must be based only on solid science. We are facing imminent catastophe for people and animals. Protect our environment and all its interdependent species.

I am absolutely against this proposed hunt. There is no need for anyone to hunt and kill black bears in Ontario, Canada, or any other country. We should be focused on preserving and treasuring our wildlife, not destroying it! I hope you will not implement this ludicrous law! Thank you! 🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻🐻

Please stop using wildlife populations as vehicles to revenue generation. It is a myth that populations need to be “managed”. Humans are the reason many wildlife species are under pressure. Too much development has led to habitat destruction and intrusion on animal lives. Read more

The spring bear hunt is very good for the economy in those areas where there is a hunt, not to mention all the tax and licence fee dollars it generates. Much of which starts long before the Hunter leaves home The cancellation was never based on any science sense at the time.

I would like to see the annual spring bear hunt continue. I feel that our bear population is healthy enough to sustain a spring and fall hunt and the benefits from the aforementioned hunt are a benefit to the local economies where the hunts take place and are a continuation of our hunting heritage.

Please do not move forward with this proposal. Just leave the animals alone in their habitat. It's already bad enough that Ford is also proposing development of the protected Greenbelt which I oppose as well. I get the impression this Government will do anything just for an extra dollar. Read more
