I support the response Gravel Watch made to the "Proposed Amendments to Ontario Regulation 244/97 and the Aggregate Resources of Ontario Provincial Standards under the ARA.
I am in support of section 1.1.8, Changes to Forestry aggregate pits. There is no need to change the classification of the pit at year 10 and no need for a time limit.
When extracted, sand and gravel are important construction materials. But aggregates in the ground already provide an essential service filtering Waterloo Region’s groundwater.
