Hello. I do not support increasing or allowing new companies to take water for bottling. Plastic water bottles are terrible for the environment and are not recycled at a level which does not impact the environment. Instead, these bottles end up in our oceans choking sea life. Read more

Hello, while the Ministry may maintain water is being taken sustainably, it's being taken by private companies at negligible benefit to the people of Ontario. Water bottling is also responsible for a significant volume of our waste. Read more

I have no problem allowing water takings in jurisdictions where regular tests are conducted to ensure groundwater levels remain static. And I understand recent increases to the charges bottling companies pay for the priviledge. But come on, they should pay A LOT more. Read more

Municipalities should NOT have more authority in water taking decisions. Water systems extend beyond their boundaries and cannot be treated as closed systems. I do Not support this legislation. I think it would be detrimental to the quality and quantity of our surface and ground water. Read more

The proposed regulatory changes should reflect that the applicant SHALL require, as a precondition, the support of the host community for a Permit to Take Water, or an increased amount, or a RENEWAL of the permit, whose decision shall be determinative. Read more

It is incredibly disappointing that our governments continue to allow this in 2020. We have extremely well inspected water and there is no reason to drink bottled. Aside from the tremendous impact of wasted water bottles, we are unnecessarily taking from our natural resources to feed corporations. Read more

While I appreciate the findings of the review, bottled water as an industry has no place in Ontario. Water privatization, especially for the production of single-use water consumption products, is not consistent with any legitimate definition of sustainability. Read more

While all of these sound great, could you also require these companies to switch back to glass or to use bioplastics in replacement of plastic? Why take our resources, if they are just going to pollute us, and add strain to our other industries? Please, take this into serious consideration. Read more
