As a citizen of Ontario I fully back the take of wild goshawks. Falconers need these birds to continue their sport. The live capture of these hawks may have a beneficial effect on this resource. Many years of management of other wildlife resources has supported this argument.

Hello, My friend's daughter is a falconer and I fully support the changes in this proposal. I know that more unrestrictied access to wild birds would improve the quality of the sport for falconers in this province. The changes proposed reflect a sustaiable use of our natural resources

While I do not decry falconry where it provides a beneficial service, I would like to urge you to reconsider adding Northern Goshawk to the list of approved species. Evidence (Breeding Bird Atlas) and personal experience in birding over the last 40 years shows the species is in decline. Read more

re: ERO 019-1806 I oppose the expansion of the live capture of wild raptors, because their numbers are constantly declining. If raptors, top predators are removed from an ecosystem the balance of numbers of all members of the food chain will be disrupted. Read more

I support this proposal. Over the past 8 years I have come to know many falconers in Ontario and elsewhere. They are extremely knowledgable and dedicated conservationists. This proposal will make falconry and falconers better by ensuring that more people are able to get native birds. Read more

By expanding the live capture of wild raptors by licensed falconers. It will increase the overall population of wild raptors . By training them to hunt better they'll have a much better chance of making it to adulthood.

Dear MNR - I have been a casual but astute observer of the OHC for some years and while I have no affiliation with the club and am not a falconer myself, I only wish upon another aspect of nature to have such wonderful, amazing, caring and hospitable curators and conservationists. Read more
