My niece has been a faloner for many years and presently has a young red tailed hawk which she captured last year. The passion she has for falconry as well as the bond she has with her falcon is akin to the centuries old practice of falconry around the world. Read more

Thank you for finally doing away with the draw. I have heard about people that had birds apply Incase they didn’t get a bird from a breeder. You no longer have to wait or purchase a bird from a breeder that you didn’t really want.

The Ontario Hawking Club has been very active in monitoring goshawks and I strongly support the proposal to allow adjustment of the numbers of goshawks based as new information becomes available in the future.

I fully support this proposal. I know that all Ontario falconers will benefit from this. What an amazing opportunity for Ontarians!! My sister in law is a falconer and I just think it is the coolest thing I have ever come across!! Falconers will benefit greatly from this!!

I would like to comment on the proposed deletion of the wild take draw. It is my opinion that this is a great move forward for Ontario falconers; birds are made available to all apprentice falconers and can be easily released at the end of the hunting season should one desire. Read more

As a Canadian falconer with over 40 years of practical experience in Canada Europe and the Middle East, it is good to see Ontario Dept of Natural resources catch up with its fellow provinces in expanding their falconry regulations particularly with regards to wild take of raptors. Read more

My father in-law is a member of the Ontario Hawking Club, who have been critical in obtaining improved regulations for falconry in Ontario. He has worked with others for 17 years to allow the retrieval of wild birds to be used only for falconry. Read more
