Levels of suspended particulate matter coming from the facility are modelled at 76% of the Ministry of Environment maximum allowable emission level. The modelled levels are very close to the actual limit, warranting a call for actual monitoring to determine how high these levels really are. Read more

I am a retired employee of a company that supplied mechanicals seals to Bartek Chemicals at one time. As they are a chemical plant there were buying seals that never should have been used for chemical service we as a company even told them so. Read more

The neighborhood has been changing for years. There are more and more homes being built, not industrial companies in the area. I do not approve of re-approval of the application based on estimates emissions provided by Bartek. Read more

Allowing permits on projected emmisions as close to the limits as Bartek Ingredients ltd. is a recipe for disaster and long term adverse health effect on residents. We should be strengthening our environmental protection laws and enforcing current ones. Sound pollution is also a deadly killer.

Anything that could potentially harm families and residents in the area should not be passed. The water in Stoney Creek already has high levels of minerals and chemicals. I hope the city will take the current levels into serious consideration before proceeding.

Please reconsider this proposal, based on lack of information effecting young children and their development. If actual levels were reported, if more were known about the leak and its effects on the environment and interaction with natural resources, we could feel safe. Read more

I don't want Bartek to be allowed to pollute more than they already do, not in my city, not in any city. And in terms of any emissions- we want actual monitoring. Daily results available online to all residents of Stoney Creek and Hamilton. Read more

We have enough pollution from the steel plant, please do not approve this proposal. The long term effects of the pollution and the population is not worth the financial gain. This same mistake was made with the steel plant and we are still living with the repercussions.

It is imperative that our local environment is prioritized Actual levels of contaminants, not projections must be monitored. To do otherwise is to open the door to manipulation for businesses to prioritize their bottom line above the health of the environment and their community

Much of the environmental work at both bartek locations has been rife with falsifications. All previous ECA submissions should be reviewed in detail and all emissions monitored. For decades, spills have not been reported and have been covered up. Read more
