When the legislators insert elements into omnibus bills which are not obviously supportive of the aims of the main intent of the bill, the public can only interpret that these elements would not stand on their own. This leads to public cynicism . Read more

The Minister is working for the people. Enhance authority over people is an abuse of power. As well when transparency isn't required as part of planning/decision making process, it can fuel corruption. Neglecting the local communities who are directly impacted by MZOs is not civil. Read more

Dear Minister, The proposed changes interfere with community process and give unnecessary power to the minister. There is already sufficient planning oversight. Further consultation with stakeholders is required before a bill of this scope can be passed. Read more

I strongly oppose this initiative. While planning needs to be reformed in our province, in order to build more housing with less delays, it would be destructive for the minister to remove site plan control as part of MZOs. Read more
