The conservation areas in our Lanark County area are used by residents of all ages and provide educational opportunities for children. How can kids learn how to protect our future environment? Some things have to be hands-on, a zoom lesson would not work. Read more

I am wholly against this proposal. Users have a right to use these lands for recreation without being worried about not being able to afford it. Parking lots are required to keep these trails safe, clean, and regulated. Read more

The conservation Authorities have been given a huge role to play in fisheries regulations, flood plain zoning etc. ,environment, and up holding many other laws and acts. But they are not given any money or power to enforce all this. Read more

These proposed regulatory changes undermine conservation areas at a time when covid has demonstrated the importance of CAs for mental health and education and so much more. Restricting mandate in such a way as to lose parking (therefore access for people) and additional amenities such as washroom. Read more

I seriously hope that this decision is scrapped. Our local conservation authority (MVCA) is such a feather in our municipalities cap. The services they provide to our community through education and conservation area amenities are vital to our quality of life. Read more

To whom it may concern, I’m shocked and disappointed about what the Province has already done to the Conservation Authorities with regards to approving Bill 229 and Schedule 6. It appears to me that the Province has totally emasculated these critically important organizations. Read more
