I spent many years on the receiving end of these comments and know only too well how all of this goes. The CA Act has always been intended to limit development for the PROTECTION of Ontarians, in particular, to protect the investments they make in their houses. Read more

Based on my substantive experience with conservation authorities and municipal government I find this proposal is not in the public interest. Conservation authorities have always provided excellent service to Ontarians and value for money expended.

Conservation Authorities were established in the 1940s across Ontario to address the fact that water knows no municipal boundaries. What happens in one area of a watershed can have profound effects on surrounding and downstream areas. This was an innovative and practical approach. Read more
