I am an Ontario resident and myself and my family have lived in Burlington our entire lives. When Doug Ford was filmed stating he was going to "cut the red tape" and "open the Greenbelt for Development", my family was extremely concerned and upset, as well as thousands of other Ontario residents. I fully support land and nature conservation in any way possible. We must be better stewards of our environment- more green, less oil and asphalt. Our future and health depend on it. Fight climate change should be at the forefront of every decision

I think it is laughable that protecting the green belt includes plowing through it to create highways. That is not protection, that’s distraction. In order to protect this space, LEAVE IT ALONE. That is the one and only concern that the government should have. That is a NO GO ZONE. EVER. Read more

Although I welcome Greenbelt expansion, I am very weary about trusting this government with anything to do with the environment which it consistently views as ‘red tape’. Saying you want to expand the Greenbelt while also destroying it makes no sense. Read more

Dear PC government. Please stop the insanity. Give landowners back their land. The ORM and Greenbelt have weak science behind them and was brought in under a conservative government. Do the right thing and give back the land to the private landowners. Read more

It is very important that we protect out green belt! And grow it as best as we can. One amazing way to do this is to market the green belt as quaint, vibrant incredible places for people to visit. Support farm cafes, shops, local cultures. City folks can learn a lot about life in rural areas. Read more
