We have lost far too many of our heritage buildings in Ontario. Bill 23 is clearly more about transferring more wealth to very wealthy people than protecting our heritage and building livable cities together. Why don't you listen to the people that you claim to serve, your constituents? Read more

The idea would be great to minimize red tape in order to have housing build faster. However, there still should be enough time for heritage assessment to see if they are deem worthy to keep and have great historical value.

While I think Bill 23 is well-meaning, I believe that it runs roughshod over municipalities and conservation authorities, as well as existing legislation such as the Ontario Heritage Act. Read more

Bill 23 needs much more consultation on much of the proposed legislation. It is a sweeping bill that threatens to drastically change the safeguards set up by our municipalities to safeguard not only our historic properties but our expectations for our communities. Read more

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the proposed changes to the Ontario Heritage Act in Bill 23. I believe that they will result in the loss of many of Ontario’s heritage properties and landscapes but do little to improve the province’s housing supply. Read more
