We, the Pefferlaw Area Ratepayers organization, thought that the provincial soil regulations of 2019 would significantly reduce the threat of contaminated soil dumped illegally in to the greenbelt and surrounding lands, but on Nov 3 the Ford government proposed to rescind a large part of it. Strongly object to these changes. Our Township of Pusinch is an aggregate region and therefore will become an excess soil magnet region in the near future. Much more research needs to be done on contamination levels in "low contamination areas" before cessation of testing should even be considered. Read more
