The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing has decided to revoke a Minister's Zoning Order in the City of Brampton, filed as Ontario Regulation 38/22.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) sought input in 2023 on proposed policies for an integrated province-wide land use planning document. On April 10, 2024, MMAH released an updated proposed Provincial Planning Statement for public input. (ERO# 019-8462)
The province is proposing to amend the Development Charges Act, 1997 to: repeal the five-year phase-in of development charges (DCs); reinstate studies as an eligible cost for DCs; reduce the timeframe for the DC freeze from two years to 18 months; and streamline the process for municipalities to extend existing DC by-laws.
Regulatory changes are proposed that would modernize public notice requirements under the Planning Act and Development Charges Act, 1997 regarding newspaper notice and make other amendments to support implementation of legislative changes.

We made a boundary amendment to Mellon Lake Conservation Reserve, by way of an amendment to Ontario Regulation 315/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006. The government is seeking input on creating an optional enhanced time-of-use electricity rate to encourage consumers to shift electricity use to low-demand periods, modelled after the OEB pricing pilot which included an ultra-low overnight price.
We are also seeking input on ways to address barriers to further enable electric vehicle adoption.
We are proposing to expand the boundary of Bigwind Lake Provincial Park, located approximately 20 kilometres east of Bracebridge. Expanding this park would provide long-term protection and enhanced opportunities for recreational activities, such as hiking and backcountry camping.
