We are revoking Ontario Regulation 323/94 (Dry Cleaners) which required dry cleaning establishments to employ a person trained in the environmental management of contaminants and waste in connection with the operation of dry cleaning equipment. Revoking the regulation will reduce administrative burden and costs to small businesses in Ontario.

The Minister has issued an overall benefit permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) to Richcraft Homes Ltd. for construction activities that may impact Blanding’s Turtle and their habitat. The permit includes actions to benefit the species and minimize adverse effects and requires monitoring and reporting.
A pre-conversion period was set that included a cessation of staking mining claims, the suspension of a number of transactions relating to mining claims and removed the requirement for claim holders to perform assessment work for a set time period.

The Ministry has developed a final strategy – New Horizons: Ontario’s Agricultural Soil Health and Conservation Strategy. Feedback received through consultation on the draft strategy, as well as collaboration with the soil health working group have informed the development of the final strategy.
Ontario is proposing to expand Charleston Lake Provincial Park (adventure class park) by adding Crown lands directly east of the park under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserve Act, 2006 (PPCRA). Adding these lands to the park would support ecological protection while allowing current, sustainable uses to continue.
