On July 21, 2023 we issued an Environmental Compliance Approval No. 1557-CQ4SUP to manage liquid and solid non-hazardous organic waste at a waste disposal site (transfer/processing), located at 1125 and 1133 Route 900 East in St. Albert, Ontario.

An amendment to Environmental Compliance Approval No. 7470-4XGRM5 (industrial sewage) was granted for Hydro One Networks Inc. for the collection, transmission, treatment and disposal of stormwater at the Hanover Transmission Station, located at 341020 Grey County Road 28, in the Town of Hanover, Ontario.

We have introduced legislative and regulatory changes to enable the IESO to launch a clean energy credit (CEC) registry to track the transfer and retirement of voluntarily purchased CECs generated from Ontario’s clean electricity supply. The CEC registry will provide businesses with a new tool to meet their corporate sustainability goals.  

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. P-300-9180458959 for Sauble Sunsets GP Limited as general partner and on behalf of Sauble Sunsets Limited Partnership. Water will be taken from nine wells for construction dewatering purposes, located at 701 Main Street, Sauble Beach, Ontario. This permit expires on January 24, 2024.

We have issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 0334-CN8VAQ on January 23, 2023 to Mattamy (Fairwinds) Limited. Water will be taken from three ponds for the purpose of construction dewatering, located in the City of Ottawa, Ontario. The new permit expires on January 20, 2026.

This decision is for a new Permit to Take Water for Produits Forestiers Greenfirst (QC) Inc. for aggregate extraction purposes. Water will be taken from one pond to dewater a man-made gravel extraction hole located approximately 22 kilometers south of the Town of Kapuskasing along Swanson Road, Ontario.

We have issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) to Shirley Ann Johnson for subsurface sewage disposal works.

On November 25, 2022, an amendment to O.Reg. 509/18, made under the Electricity Act, 1998  was filed to update test methods, scope and/or efficiency requirements for 18 products to harmonize with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or other industry standards.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) was issued for Timothy Edward Lipsitt, operating as Tim Lipsitt Excavating, for the operation of a mobile grinder unit to operate at various locations throughout Ontario.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval was granted for the establishment of seasonal subsurface sewage disposal works, with a daily sewage flow of 2,550 litres/day, to service a cottage located at 205 Second Street, Belwood Lake, Township of Centre Wellington, Ontario.

The ministry issued a new Permit to Take Water No. 5462-CL7REX on November 18, 2022, to St. Mary’s Cement Inc. (Canada) for aggregate washing and concrete production purposes. The permitted water taking will serve the CBM Aggregates Brantford Pit in the County of Brant, Ontario. The new permit expires on November 19, 2032.

A new Permit To Take Water No. 5018-CL7LPN was issued to 2690622 Ontario Inc. on November 16, 2022 for a period of nine years. Water will be taken for construction dewatering and foundation drainage in the City of Markham, Ontario.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-22-000236 to International Explorers and Prospectors Incorporated for early exploration activities.

The decision is to: issue the mineral exploration permit.

We have issued a Permit to Take Water No. 3814-CKNU56 for Inter-Recycling Systems Inc. This is a renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 2677-9T8RAT. Water will be taken from one pond for dewatering purposes at the closed Inter-Recycling Systems Landfill site, located in the City of Sarnia, Ontario.

The government has established regulatory requirements that require the Ontario Energy Board to direct electricity distributors to implement a new voluntary ultra-low overnight price plan for Regulated Price Plan (RPP) consumers, which includes households, small businesses, and farms.
