On May 15, 2026, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing made a Minister's Zoning Order in the Town of Midland as Zoning Order 006-2026. 

Ontario Regulation 161/17 and Ontario Regulation 239/13 were amended to allow short-term bridges, geotechnical investigations, and mobile wind testing and environmental monitoring equipment on public lands provided conditions are followed, including location registration. In addition, the definition of “shore lands” was amended.

We have approved changes to the Renewable Energy on Crown Land (RECL) policy and to rescind the renewable energy project Approvals and Permitting Requirements Document (APRD). These changes reflect current policy and approvals considerations for the management of public lands when a proposal for a renewable energy project is submitted.

Approval is granted for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (industrial sewage) to establish stormwater management works owned by SCAL Properties Ltd., to service a proposed Equipment Storage Yard Facility for the collection and disposal of stormwater runoff from a property located on Lot 20, Concession 4, in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Permit to Take Water No. 0661-DQXSUN has been issued to Moretto Ingratta Farms Incorporated, for the renewal of agricultural water taking and authorization to use Well 1 for commercial water bottling purposes. Water will be taken from three wells in Leamington, Ontario.

The ministry has issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) to Ontario Power Generation Inc. for stormwater management works associated with the Phase II Pickering Waste Management Facility (PWMF) located at 1675 Montgomery Park Road, in the City of Pickering, Regional Municipality of Durham, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1105467667 version 2.0 was issued to Seven Lakes Golf Course Ltd. on March 12, 2026, to renew Permit to Take Water No. P-300-1105467667 version 1.0 for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from two ponds and two wells in LaSalle, Ontario for 10 years.

We issued this new Environmental Compliance Approval for the construction of domestic sewage disposal works, with a maximum design daily flow of 59,000 litres per day to service a four-unit building (mixed warehouse and office use) located at 1650 Halls Road North in the Town of Whitby, Ontario.

A decision has been made on the boundaries for Ontario’s new regional conservation authorities. This spring, the government intends to introduce legislative amendments to the Conservation Authorities Act (CAA) that, if passed, would consolidate Ontario’s 36 Conservation Authorities (CAs) and create nine regional CAs, targeted to occur in early 2027

This approval is for amendment to the existing Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) No. 8603-DD8S8N serving Walker Aggregates Inc. for the Ridgemount Quarry located in Fort Erie, Ontario. This ECA amendment is being requested to change the wash plant pond locations on-site.
