I do not support the incursion into the green belt. It is absolutely a step in the wrong direction.
We need more protected spaces not fewer. Land is not interchangeable. Prime farmland and wetlands are irreplaceable.
The people who would be able to purchase homes in the green belt are not the people who currently cannot find housing. These homes are for the rich and to enrich developers.
Not forcing developers to pay for infrastructure is short sighted to say the least. They have no incentive to pass on savings to the homebuyers. We will up with neighbourhoods with no parks, rec centres or walk ability.
Lastly I would endorse an investigation into how and why developers were able to purchase land that are now vastly more valuable due to the proposed legislation changes.
