There is very little need for bottled water. We have lived for centuries without it. Yes, there are emergencies where it is needed. But we need to stop companies like Nestle that believe water is not a right. No more bottled water plants. Read more

Water is a fundamental human right. The water in the water table belongs to the people who live there and is not a commodity for the government and corporations to profit off of. It's the government's responsibility, on behalf of Ontarians and Canadians to protect the water rights of it's citizens.

I definitely agree with this moratorium. I do not think we should be allowing companies to take such vast quantities of water without the proper research. I also think we're giving away the worlds most precious resource for next to nothing. Read more

It is high time that we discontinue selling a precious public resource such as this to commercial interests at ridiculously low prices. Bottled water represents a significant insult to our natural environment via unnecessary plastic waste. It is time to stop this ludicrous situation.

Yes, I would like to see the moratorium extended for many reasons. I have been fighting for years to protect a very sensitive watershed in PEC from gravel extraction. In PEC we have very few areas with clean abundant ground water. We need to protect what we do have with strong regulations. Read more

A moratorium for one year seems like a waste of time. Many of us are wondering how long we can go before our own water safety is in jeopardy. Bottled water is a first world problem that we should be eliminating. Not to mention the pollution caused by all those plastic bottles. Read more

I firmly believe that our groundwater and all other water resources should not be owned or controlled by any corporate entity, including Nestle Waters. It should not be considered by anyone to be a corporate asset - it is a PUBLIC resource. Read more
