Water is not a commodity but an essential resource for human and living being existence that needs to be managed sustainabily for both present and future generations to use.

Waste of time stop giving water bottlers like Nestle our water. We need this water for people in Ontario especially our indigenous people.
You already know how devastating this is for us. Besides we need to stop single plastic use.
Sirs and Madames,
Certainly I can only agree that an extension be granted to Nestle. It is the very least measure of sensitivity to the fine citizens of Elora, whose respect for ministry decision process is waining.

I am not only in favour of extending the moratorium on water bottling permits, I am in favour of phasing out the bottled-water industry entirely. Water should not be sold for profit—not here, not anywhere.

The rate charged for the access and consumption of our natural resource must take into account the full impact the removal will have as well as the long-term impacts the resulting product has on our environment.

I feel that the low price companies like Nestles pay for water, which is a natural resource, is far to low.Our water is being sold in foreign countries, like USA for far to low a price ,when these countries charge Canadians very high prices for common items we need.

I live in Centre Wellington, Ontario and our town is growing at an incredible rate. Our water demands will only be increasing in the coming decades. The well that Nestle bought out from under our town should be water for the people of this community.

In an age of climate change and a growing population, it is crucial that we protect our water resources. Bottled water is the low hanging fruit and should be the first and easiest to address.

I totally agree with the moratorium. We must protect our water!
Another aspect of this water issue is the plastic bottles. They harm our environment on land and water, and should be banned from use altogether.
Groundwater is a public resource, not something for tax evading, addiction promoting multi-national corporations to profit from while spewing plastic products into the biosphere.
Corporations, like Nestle, are profiting greatly (billions and trillions $$$$$$$$$$$$) from taking unsustainable resources, as in this case, 'fresh water', in this case, from communities around the world.

It is wise to extend the moratorium in order to further assess the situation of removing water for bottling. I personally do not support removal of water for any purpose which generates income, be that for an individual, group, company, or otherwise.

I heartily agree with the extension of the moratorium on issuing water permits for bottling companies. In fact, I would like to see the moratorium become a complete refusal to issue new permits or renewals for those requests already submitted and for any future requests.

Water is life. If we commodify it, & especially if we allow private interests to control it, we will lose everything. No person or body, including the government, has the right to deprive us of our water, any more than of the air we breathe.

Any water removed from a water table, aquifer, ground water should be returned to the source it came from not shipped away. It should stay where it came from.
Nestle has been happily and very prosperously engaging in blatant thievery for a long time . It is now past time to reclaim our own precious resources .
