I am categorically opposed to your proposal to double the amount of industrial logging in Ontario. This proposal completely ignores our biodiversity commitments, including safeguarding the habitat of imperilled species, such as boreal caribou. Read more

Not even a whisper about climate change. A narrow fiscal view of the boreal forest is precisely what Ontario, Canada, and planet Earth do not need right now. Half of that forest is now gone. It needs to be replaced before even thinking about expanding its further destruction. Read more

No, I do not support the proposal outlined. Look at our climate and the environmental impact the decades of industry and forrestry have caused. We have significant disease and parasites in our trees. Leeds Grenville is losing a huge number of ash trees due to the ash borer. Read more

I would like to see this proposal stay in draft phase for a review. I am concerned that there is not enough emphasis placed on sustainability and that there should be more discussions with Indigenous groups than the proposal indicates it intends to do. Read more

Your proposal states that increasing logging limits, perhaps by as much as 60% (as stated), will continue to provide a sustainable forest. Perhaps so, but is this at the expense of a sustainable eco-system? What about the effect of our forests as a buffer against climate disaster? Read more
