The proposal to eliminate special black bear hunting opportunities for non-resident landowners and non-resident immediate relatives is completely preposterous. Forcing ANY landowner to submit to a government regulated bear guide on their own property is tyranny. Read more

Please do not go through with this. Mother bears will be killed if this gets passed. We need to be protecting our wildlife at all costs. Wildlife is already declining at a fast rate due to climate change. Canada has been known for protecting it's country and it's beautiful wildlife. Read more

This is simply outrageous. Do not allow this to continue, stop the hunt. I am embarrassed that Canada is even considering reinstating the Spring black bear hunt in Ontario. All lives are worth protecting and one day what we are taking for granted will not be here anymore.

I am a non-resident landowner in Northern Ontario. I am also a Canadian citizen living abroad. I have held property in Canada for over thirty years and my family has owned this land for decades before that. I know the lay of my land better than any guide service can provide me. Read more

Please do not reinstate this Bear Hunt! We need our wild creatures because they are part of the whole ecosystem and we will be less without them. Every time we step in and cull, we upset the balance maintained by nature. The system is perfect as is, and should not be tampered with.

The spring bear hunt proposal does not work in the real world where science has shown us that hunters do a very poor job of identifying nursing females. Bear hunting is a brutal and unnecessary activity. Government regulated hunting does not work and should be banned outright.

I fully agree with the return of the spring bear hunt but do not agree with the requirements for a non resident to have a registered guide My brother likes to come back home from Alberta and hunt with me at my hunt camp. Why should he have to pay a guide and hunt somewhere else? Read more
