We totally reject allowing new licenses for dog hunting pens. They were phased out in 1997 for a reason. The 24 that exist should be closed indefinitely. it' is totally disruptive to wildlife and mindless in the extreme..

I firmly reject the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s proposal to allow new licenses and the transfer of licenses for train and trial areas in Ontario. Penned dog hunting facilities are cruel to the wild animals that are subjected to various methods used to train dogs to hunt. Read more

This is barbaric and not needed. We have come so far from this that there is ni reason to go back in time. There is no way that this should be allowed to pass, it's been already been over two decades without this and hunters are doing fine. PLEASE NO!!!

I am writing to voice my absolute opposition to the approval of dog training facilities for hunting in this province. Approval of this type of facility is an outright contravention of animal cruelty laws - including the containment of wild animals. Read more

Wildlife should never be taken from their natural environments and held captive by hunters. It’s especially cruel to use rabbits, coyotes, and foxes as pawns for hunters to train dogs and hold competitions. Read more

This is disgraceful and I cannot believe that in 2023 such cruel and needless practices are being allowed to continue. Instead of opening new applications, the province’s existing 24 facilities need to be closed immediately.

So disturbing to know these brutal facilities still exist, let alone to learn of the Ministry contemplating allowing more to open. To permit the torture/killing of wildlife, in the name of 'sport' is beyond revolting. I reiterate the following valid points: Read more

This is absolutely horrific and inhumane. I'm just now learning that these places exist. Unbelievable. All animal lives matter. This is absolutely abuse and cruelty and those practicing this should be charged as such. Archaic and terrible

Completely disagree with utilising wild animals, such as, fox, coyotes and /or rabbits to train hunting dogs or people for that matter. Please let’s not turn the clock back and allow more of this cruel practice. Read more
