No animal should ever be kept in a trap so that another animal can learn to hunt. This is cruel and unjust. Wildlife do not deserve to be trapped for sport and competition. Please do not do this.
I believe this is so very cruel & uncalled for. If people want to train their hunting dogs, then do it the old fashioned way. Caging wild animals for human amusement is just disgusting.
This proposal is barbaric. To subject animals to this violence is unacceptable. This amendment supports tracking and hunting as a form of entertainment, that we as a society are well evolved from.

I would like to let you know that I am against this practice. It is cruelty against animals for no legitimate reason and I believe that the current training ground should be phased out as initially planned. Please do not let this pass.

I was horrified when I first heard about this. It is not really hunting when you have penned up the prey. Training dogs to hunt? There is nothing more natural to a dog than to hunt. If for some reason a dog doesn’t hunt realize that it isn’t fit for hunting.

This is a terrible practice harming wildlife. Training dogs using trapped wildlife is inhumane, it goes against our values as a society. Such practice has no place in Canada, it should not be allowed to exist, let alone expand!
I am vehemently opposed to this proposal. I am an avid angler and supporter of hunting, when done ethically. Keeping wild animals captive to be used as a training tool is an unbelievably cruel form of torture - there are other ways to do this effectively.
